Conecta
Desktop app
Mail and the machine next door.
A small, fast desktop app for the two things people do all day: read and answer email, and talk to the computer in the next room.
- Made for
- Anyone who lives in their inbox and shares a network with other machines.
- Runs on
- Windows, macOS, Linux
- Built with
- Tauri, Rust, React, SQLite
What makes it different
The inbox opens instantly
Messages render from a local cache the moment the window opens. Syncing happens in the background, one small request at a time.
Gmail or any IMAP account
Gmail through its own API with labels and incremental sync, or any other provider over IMAP and SMTP.
Chat with no server
Machines on your network find each other by themselves. Messages and files go straight from one to the other, with nothing in between.
Common questions
- Does my mail pass through your servers?
- No. Conecta talks to your mail provider directly, and the local cache lives on your machine.
- Does chat work without internet?
- Yes. Chat and file transfer are peer to peer over your local network, so they work with the internet down entirely.
- Which providers are supported?
- Gmail through its API, and any provider offering IMAP and SMTP.
