Studio
Desktop app
Your media library, on your own disk.
An offline-first desktop library for films, series, anime, courses and home videos. It reads folders you already have, works out what everything is, and plays it back properly.
- Made for
- Anyone with a folder of films, series or course videos.
- Runs on
- Windows, macOS, Linux
- Built with
- Tauri, Rust, React, SQLite
What makes it different
Nothing streams
Studio scans your own folders. Downloading artwork and metadata is optional — the app is fully usable with the network switched off.
Understands what it finds
Films, seasons and episodes, absolute-numbered anime, and course folders numbered lesson by lesson.
Plays real files
Playback runs through MPV, so MKV, HEVC, DTS and ASS subtitles work — the formats a browser engine gives up on.
Common questions
- Does it move or rename my files?
- No. It reads your folders where they are and leaves them exactly as it found them.
- Where is my library stored?
- One SQLite file with artwork on disk beside it, plus optional Kodi and Jellyfin-compatible NFO import and export. Nothing is locked in.
- Does it need an internet connection?
- Only if you want artwork and metadata downloaded. Everything else works offline.
